~Memorial Day~

We had a very busy but fun day!

There were several "chores" that had to be done first thing this morning. After that, we packed ourselves up for a picnic lunch at church. We had a wonderful lunch together and the boys had fun playing kickball.
We had some special speakers in for the weekend...both are from the Marines! They are two older men that love the country and love the Lord! It has been wonderful to listen to their sermons.

Today we learned about thankfulness...using Luke 17 as the text. We can so easily look down on those nine lepers that didn't come back to say thank you...yet we can fall into this ourselves! In our busyness we sometimes forget or just plain old don't take the time to say thank you...to God or man. We can certainly apply this to our nation! This younger generation (me included) really doesn't understand what has been fought for...not understanding, we are obviously not thankful! It was a good reminder for me.
We got home in time for naps...had some leftovers for supper at our little picnic table at home...and enjoyed some smoke bombs and sparkers.

I am thankful for all those who served our country. I have several uncles, grandfathers and counsins that are serving/have served. I need to pray more for the young boys of today to be men of honor and courage. To stand up for what is right. To be mighty men of valor!

Sounds like your family had an awesome Memorial Day. I am definitely feeling thankful as well, and very mindful of all the other people in the world who are not afforded the same freedoms.
