~Nathan's Baptism~

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in truth. 3 Jn 1:4

Nathan seemed to have an understanding of Biblical things at an early age.  He asked for months to be saved and we kept putting him off because we wanted to be sure he understood.  One day he just came out and told us he prayed and asked God to save him from his sins.  We have questioned him several times and he certainly seems to have a good understanding for his young mind.

Shortly after Nathan accepted Jesus as his Savior in December he started asking to be baptized.  We kept putting him off because we wanted to be sure he knew what he was talking about.  Well, we could push him off no longer... I was afraid he was going to baptize himself if we didn't let him!  He also talked to the pastor several times and asked him to be baptized.  Our pastor was happy to do it this Sunday.

Pastor could not remember who was with Nathan when he prayed (mom or dad) so he asked Nathan... " Who did you talk to when you got saved" (meaning mom or dad)  Nathan simply answered... "I talked to God."  I love that!

~Rough Racing~

Oh my, was it hot!  I packed two gallons of a sports drink and 4 gallons of water... there was almost nothing left when we left the track!

The boys took a friend named Josiah with them this week.  He lives almost an hour away so we got him Friday night after teen night at church and didn't return him until church on Sunday morning.  He fit right in and was a pleasure to have!

Aaron was in a wreck in his heat and ended up with a bent rear axle.  He was able to finish his heat and also to run his race... but it was a bumpy ride!

The guys are trying to figure out how to race the car without the bent axle rubbing anything...

Gregg purchased a car last week and Jordan had a chance to run it this weekend.   It has great shocks but there was no oil in them so he also had a bumpy ride.  He was pretty sore on Sunday!  It must not have been too bad, because he won his heat and his race.

Kiersten was a big cheerleader this week!

 Aaron ready in his car...
Now it is time to get ready for next week!

~Race~

Our Quarter Midget race rained out today.... but the boys got a treat anyway!

The last few races my guys tried to go to were rained out.  They finally made it to one this month... and it was a big one!  The Outlaws were in town!

~VBS Week~

I am normally very involved in VBS, but this year I took a break... kind of.  I was sewing baptismal gowns for the church (much, much cheaper than buying them) and thought it would be perfect timing.  The kids would all be gone in the evening and I could sew.

We helped set up... somewhat because we normally help, but mostly because they were using our cars!  It was a race theme this year:-)  This is the front of the church with two of our cars and the puppet stage...

We also had one of our cars outside for all the kids to get their pictures taken in.  They really liked that!

Our mascot this week was a turtle named Speedy... who Kiersten was a little attached to.  Jordan helped again with the puppets and Gregg did most of the driving back and forth.  I really missed not being involved!  I didn't know the songs or stories:-(  Next year I'll be back at it!
Gregg and I did manage a small date night at the end of the week.  We went to a little whole in the wall mexican place...yum!  Maybe I will take one night off for a date:-)

~Double Winner~

Why do I always feel like I'm at the track?  My boys don't think we are there near enough!

This week was filled with busyness as I was not only treasurer but picture taker too.  Our normal person was on vacation:-)  I am so thankful that Nathan and Kiersten have found a friend at the track.  One of the moms loves to go exploring/treasure hunting with them.

Aaron won both his classes this week!

Eric and Jared both won their heats... so it was a good race day!

~Vacation at Home~

Gregg took the week off and we had a vacation at home (mostly).

Monday was a big cleaning day.  I tackled the house and Gregg and the kids worked on the garage.  What a mess!

Tuesday I was able to take Jared, Eric and Nathan to an amusement park.  It was Nathan's birthday trip... and he has been waiting since February for his big day out!  We had a great time together and I appreciated Jared's help!

Wednesday we took a couple from our church out for lunch... a treat for us to go out and it was nice to share that time with them.  They are both in their 90's and don't get out much any more.

Thursday and Friday were more days of cleaning out.  Gregg is hoping to list a bunch of things for sale that he is finding in the garage.  I was working on some sewing projects.

We will not race tomorrow because of the holiday weekend.  The guys are trying to fit in going to a race but it looks like that is going to rain out.

~New Haircuts~

It has been really hot this week... mix that with the fact that my guys needed some hair cuts.  Three were brave enough to get a buzz!

Jared

 Nathan

 Aaron

It was much quicker than our normal hair cuts!  I don't know if they will keep it that way, but it is certainly  nice for summer!

~Two Wins~

Aaron and Eric both won this week!

I was prepared for it to be unbearable hot on Sat, but it was actually a very nice day!
