When you empty the whole top shelf of your pantry, you realize you did not find the maple syrup but you do find many items that belong on the second shelf.
This was all on the top shelf!!!
When you find items that belong on the second shelf, you empty and clean the second shelf, you find the maple syrup but you at this point you just can't stop!
Ahhhh, that is soooo much better!
After you clean all the shelves, get rid of all the MSG, and consolidate (7 brown sugar bags!!!) you finish making the sticky buns you needed the maple syrup for.
When you finish making the sticky buns...you crash!
Why, oh why, do I let it get so messy!!!!

Don't get so discouraged...mine has to be cleaned every time I go food shopping, which means weekly :)

Necessity is usually what drives me to organization too. Your *before* pic looked pretty organized, but your *after* looks amazing! Great job.
