~An Irish Trivet Cover~

My new trivet cover for this month!
This block is called rolling stone... kinda fits the St Patty's Day theme! I like some of the old Irish Prayers and Blessings and thought about putting one in the center, but that would have been too many words:-)

Irish Marriage Blessing

May God be with you and bless you. May you see your children's children. May you be poor in misfortunes and rich in blessings. May you know nothing but happiness from this day forward.

An Old Irish Blessing

May the road rise up to meet you. May the wind always be at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face, and rains fall soft upon your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

I always think of these verses in Numbers when I read one of the Irish prayers so I decided to use part of that passage.

~Completed Quilt~

A one year project, completely done!!! Whooo hoooo!

Now I just need to hang it up!

~Quilt Top~

I'm soooo excited to share this with you! The top left block is January...the bottom right block is December.

I ended up not waiting for the final directions on putting the quilt together...I feel like I am limited in my time this month and really would like to get this done before the baby arrives!

I wasn't liking how the blocks were all so different...I know, it is a sampler, but I still needed something to bring it all together. I decided on a boarder around each block. I really like the results!

I still need to "quilt" it...maybe next week:-)

~June Quilt Block~

I am excited to start putting this quilt together. I have really learned a lot. Ironing is very important! Snipping my threads has become more of a habit...as well as keeping my work area clean:-) I have one more month to go!

~May Quilt Block~

I loved, loved, loved this one! It is hard to see the pinwheel effect in a photo...in person it is lovely!

~Sit and Stitch~

Friday evening was a quiet one...just Nathan and I at home. I was finally able to finish my April Quilt Block! This is a sample of Candlewicking...something I find enjoyable to do! This is beautiful using matching fabric and thread but I was looking for some contrast.

The rest of the weekend was not nearly as restful! You know that means I'll be taking it easy this week:-) I do have something special planned for Wednesday...it is my blogversary!!!! You''ll want to come back...I'm having my first giveaway!
