~Day 4~

Another leisure breakfast of fried eggs and freshly made sourdough bread. We head out mid morning for today's fun!

The museum...

The Sheep Camp - This was a neat home based business! This lady learned to knit after she had her first baby. She then got some sheep and started shearing them for the wool. She now sends the wool out to be cleaned and spun but she dyes it herself.

She also has a lot of supplies for felted wool and some un spun dyed wool...

She had yarn other yarns too...

I really enjoyed talking to this lady! She even took us out to the garage to see the wool that has been sheared. So fun!

We also stopped at a local pottery place. This guy was taught by his mom who had been taught in Germany. He spent one year as an apprentice. He is getting ready to retire and said it was a good craft to have learned and he made a good living.

It was so neat to meat these two people who found a craft that they loved and made a living from it.

I might need to purchase a bag to bring home all my finds...


Un dyed wool from their black sheep...

and some wool socks will come home with me. Believe it or not but the yarn to make the socks cost a dollar more than the socks themselves:-)

I also got a small piece of pottery but it is all wrapped up to get home in one piece.

The friend I am visiting works with Big Brothers/Big Sisters and I helped her set up for a meet and greet with the Chamber of Commerce. It was neat to meet some of those people as well.

Tomorrow is my last day... hiking, horseback riding, and a freshly caught trout dinner are in the plans.
