~Checkers, Checkers, and more Checkers~

The race season has had a rough start. We had a few cancellations because of rain and that was very disappointing to my guys. They have been doing well in their races though... that reminds me I should post my scrapbook pages every week:-) Maybe tomorrow you'll get the whole shebang!

Anyway, it was a banner day!

We took a friend along with us today. Trevor is in school for automotive stuff and thought it would be fun to learn about our engines. He was fun to have around and was helpful today... crazy stuff was happening!

Eric said he throttle wasn't working right after his warm up. Gregg didn't see anything and wasn't sure what might be the problem. Eric made one lap for his heat and the car died. It seems our mechanic forgot to put oil back in the car after draining it...oops. We are very thankful the engine seems to be fine!

Jordan was running good in one of his heats and all of a sudden stopped. He lost a key! Thankfully we were able to replace it before his race.... he is also thankful the key came out during the heat and not the race!

Both these problems took some time to fix today so that is why it was nice to have an extra pair of hands. Jared and Aaron race in the same class so it was nice to have Trevor around for them too!

So, at the end of the day, we celebrated Jared's very first win!!!! (Aaron came in 2nd! - you should have seen them racing together!) Jared came up from the back twice! Both he and Aaron had good clean passes! Jared was 2nd for awhile waiting for just the right moment to pass. He got close a few times but didn't have it in the turn so he had to back off. That is so neat to see him not take a space that isn't his and to wait it out... he also wasn't going to give up!

Jordan's first win of the season! Jordan had some really clean racing today. The win means nothing if you get it the wrong way and we are so proud of our guys for racing well.

and Jordan's second win of the season! This was the icing on the cake!

What a day! Kiersten did great today too! She played in the dirt by my feet so I could video tape! She was one big mess til we were done.
We don't race next weekend because of the holiday... I'm sure there will be some anxious boys to get back on the track in two weeks!
