Gregg was traveling over Memorial Weekend... so I had to come up with some fun things to do.
The new little Hess trucks came out, so I took the kids out to pick them up. We also did some shopping at Ollies. We came home for lunch and the boys worked on their cars while I did some cleaning and sewing.
I decided to take the kids to the park in the afternoon... thankful the big kids are able to entertain themselves for an hour to let the younger ones enjoy their fun. I resisted the urge to take crochet or a book, I wanted to be available to play. It was a beautiful afternoon.
We enjoyed dinner (hot dogs and popcorn) and a movie. Their was something every one liked in the day... so, I guess I did good.
Sunday was a special program for our kids club that meets on Wednesday nights. They did a great job singing and saying their verses. Kiersten is in a class of two... I can't imagine teaching two three year olds!
I wanted to go hiking on Monday, but not everyone wanted to.
Jordan - if he is not racing, he would rather stay home
Jared - why walk around when you can sit on the coach
Aaron - wanted to hike
Eric - wanted to go bowling
Nathan and Kiersten will do anything but would also be a lot for me to handle if they got tired of walking.
So... I looked up our local bowling place... It was dollar day! One dollar games, one dollar dogs, one dollar drinks.
We had a great time! Kiersten set her own ramp up and carried her ten pound ball... adorable!
I also got some fireworks :-)
It was a long weekend, but it was a good one!
