~It's Birthday Season~

We have a break from early May to late August of no birthdays... then we have one every month! Oh, how I've missed cake!

Jordan turned twelve this week! I simply can't believe how fast time has gone! What a joy it has been to watch him turn from baby to toddler to boy to young man.
Jordan requested cheese steaks and potato salad for supper. I got out a platter to serve his meal on... a real treat for him to be served two sandwiches!!! He ate it all and had plenty of room for cake!Gregg was away for his actual birthday so we postponed Jordan's celebration until today. Gregg had the day off as a comp day so we were able to plan a family fun day... pictures coming soon!

~My New Thing~

I really like Mexican food:-) Taco night is one of our favorites and I look forward to taco salad with the leftovers. A friend mentioned a "salsa" she makes for her tacos. I had to try it but I was a little worried about the avocados. I had never bought one before. I love guacamole and so do most of the kids so I thought it would be worth a try!
Mmmm, it was very good! I am going to try making guacamole next!!!

~Small Victories~

The bookshelf... my bookshelf... my bookshelf that sits right next to my chair... my bookshelf that gets trashed by everyone needing to put a book "away."
I couldn't take it any more. Ahhh, much better!

~Small Celebrations~

I made Root Beer Float cupcakes to celebrate the completion of our first week of school. They were way to sweet for me, but the boys loved them!

~New Quote~

A friend recently shared this quote...

"God never intended us to simply be the objects of his love. We are also called to be instruments of that love in the lives of others." Paul David Tripp

It has really made me think this week. Just thought I'd pass it on! (Thanks Kelsey!)
