~Getting Ready~

The big 1st birthday party is coming up on Thursday!

~A Day Off~

Oh how we needed a day off! Gregg and I haven't been very idle lately. It is starting to catch up with me. He has been traveling a lot this year and down time is hard to come by. Saturdays are busy with the boys racing... something we enjoy but it certainly takes time. I was so happy that Gregg was taking a comp day yesterday! He had the great idea of going for a bike ride! The weather was just perfect.

There is a bike trail not too far from us that you can go miles, and miles, and miles! Nathan thought he was going to ride so we took his bike along. We were so thankful that he road around in the parking lot as we were unpacking and then he decided to ride in the bike trailer! Kiersten road on the front of my bike and everyone else had their own bike. We had an extra seat on the back of Gregg's bike just in case.
Eric is only 5 and we were wondering how far he could go... we brought bungees just in case we needed to strap his bike to our trailer. We grabbed our packed lunch and took off.

We passed through, over, and under many bridges...


We stopped for lunch and the boys skipped stones in the water......while Kiersten took a nap. I laid down on the hill and watched everyone:-)
It was so nice to just relax!
We saw some animals (I didn't stop to get a photo of the snake)

we saw some beautiful homes...

and we managed to go 11.25 miles!
Notice the bike strapped to the trailer?!?!? Eric did so good! He went 8.75 miles!!! Nathan did great and Kiersten had her moments... now that she is mobile, she doesn't like to be strapped down! Nathan road around the parking lot again while we (Gregg) packed the bikes back up. We sat in the grass under and tree and just did some hanging out! I really hope we can go again this year. I'd like to take the path in the other direction!

~It's Birthday Season~

We have a break from early May to late August of no birthdays... then we have one every month! Oh, how I've missed cake!

Jordan turned twelve this week! I simply can't believe how fast time has gone! What a joy it has been to watch him turn from baby to toddler to boy to young man.
Jordan requested cheese steaks and potato salad for supper. I got out a platter to serve his meal on... a real treat for him to be served two sandwiches!!! He ate it all and had plenty of room for cake!Gregg was away for his actual birthday so we postponed Jordan's celebration until today. Gregg had the day off as a comp day so we were able to plan a family fun day... pictures coming soon!

~Shoes~

This is the first week Kiersten has worn shoes. She is in a size 1. Too cute!

~My New Thing~

I really like Mexican food:-) Taco night is one of our favorites and I look forward to taco salad with the leftovers. A friend mentioned a "salsa" she makes for her tacos. I had to try it but I was a little worried about the avocados. I had never bought one before. I love guacamole and so do most of the kids so I thought it would be worth a try!
Mmmm, it was very good! I am going to try making guacamole next!!!
